Hi there! I’m Amanda (she/her)!

I am a Certified ADHD Life Coach (CALC) and the founder of Amanda Hanania ADHD Coaching, LLC. based in New Haven, CT, USA. I received my training through an ICF-credentialed Coaching program at the International ADHD Coach Training Center (iACT Center). I am also working towards obtaining my ACC (Associated Certified Coach) credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Diagnosed with ADHD at 30, I now aim to help others embrace their ADHD as a strength. ADHD looks different for everyone, and that's why my approach is individualized and customized to each person. By understanding your unique thoughts, beliefs, and habits we can develop a personalized plan that works with your brain and your life!

Before diving into ADHD Coaching, I worked in Higher Education and Human Resources, always with a focus on helping others. Now, I'm dedicated to making a positive impact in the ADHD community and helping individuals thrive in a world that may not always understand them.

In my downtime, you can find me hanging out with my partner, playing pickleball, and spending time with my fur babies - Kya (my forever puppy) and my kitty crew - Mish Mish (right) and Soki (left)!

Let's connect and chat about how I can support you on your ADHD journey!

  1. I love animals! No seriously - name an animal and I probably have considered adopting it!
  2. I will only eat soup with a fork. I know it’s weird, but what’s a lady to do if I don’t like broth?!
  3. I make up songs throughout my day, so I don’t forget things. My latest hit? “Don’t forget to lock the door!”

Fun Facts About Me!

Why Did You Become an ADHD Coach?

Because it allows me to do two really meaningful things:

  • Understand their diagnosis
  • Understand & embrace their unique brain
  • Learn how to adjust their environments to fit
their needs instead of the other way around!

Help late-stage diagnosed ADHDers!

Spread awareness about ADHD!

It's so important to me that young girls and boys learn early on that their brains are
different—and oh so very special!

By providing them with the right resources and strategies, we can help them
succeed and avoid feeling like there’s something wrong with them.

Raising awareness is crucial because it tackles the issue of late diagnosis right at
its source!

Imagine if more adults, especially those who regularly interact with children, were
well-informed about the signs and symptoms of ADHD.

They would know what to watch for and when to seek help. This way, we can help
kids and adults avoid a lifetime of feeling misunderstood!

“I have been receiving Coaching with Amanda for several sessions now and always find her approach relaxed yet
structured, insightful and concise in her observations and questions. Amanda provides the space for me to
process as I need to and work out my next steps in a supportive and safe way. We have an outcome or goals to
work towards and Amanda ensures I stay on track as I can ‘run off’ on topic sometimes! I very much enjoy our
sessions and they are helping me make the choices and decisions that are moving my life forward in a way that
works for my ADHD brain and ADHD life. I can simply be me in the session and this is as refreshing as it is a gift.
Thank you Amanda for your continued support.”

- Vanessa, 55

“Amanda is a wonderful Coach. I've been working with her for several months now and she is an absolute joy to
work with. Through her Coaching, I've been able to make multiple breakthroughs in a short time. I highly
recommend working with her!”

- Kaitlyn, 32

“Amanda is an excellent Coach. She Coached me early on in her career and she was amazing right from the start. I
am a trained Coach myself and so I have a good sense of the role and the expected outcomes of a session.
Amanda had this natural ability to stay with me, to hear me and notice things I wasn't noticing myself. She is
insightful, aware, courageous, and effective. She made me feel safe right from the beginning and I felt very
comfortable sharing and exploring my shadow sides with her. She is non-judgemental, and is able to be serious or
light, as needed. I left our sessions with more clarity, energy, and dedication for my goals, which spanned across
the following diverse themes: creativity, executive leadership, and personal transformation. I very, very highly
recommend working with Amanda.”

- Gillian, 46

Registrar and Executive Director of Enrolment Services

McGill University

“Amanda is the real deal. She focuses on just the right kind of questions with an open, exploratory approach that
got me to dig in and find new approaches and responses to issues that have plagued me for as long as I can
remember. Working with Amanda has led me to find ways to work with my own circumstances, strengths and
challenges. This kind of progress is so much more practical and personalized than anything I could have got out of
testing out random tips and self-help guides!”

- Jennifer, 58

“I always enjoy my Coaching sessions with Amanda. With her warm, friendly, and professional approach, I always
feel like she is really listening to me without judgment and I always feel like it is a safe space for me to open up
about things I wouldn't usually feel comfortable discussing. She has definitely helped me to be able to dig deeper
to help me find insights to move towards my goals. I will definitely continue to work with Amanda and highly
recommend her.”

Authentic Coaching - Life-Changing Outcomes!

Frequently Asked Questions

Professional coaching emphasizes self-awareness, goal clarity, and personal change. ADHD coaching helps individuals understand the
impact of ADHD on their lives and develops practical strategies to overcome challenges.

2. What is ADHD Coaching?

3. What are some examples of things ADHD Coaches help with?

ADHD Coaches:

  • Help clients identify areas they want to change in their life
  • Help clients identify what is getting in the way of achieving their goals
  • Help clients become self-aware of their passions, goals, and purpose
  • Help clients better understand themselves and their ADHD brain
  • Address core ADHD-related issues such as time management, organization, procrastination, prioritizing, etc.

8. Do I need to have an official ADHD diagnosis to work with you?

Nope - no official diagnosis necessary!

7. What is the process to start working with you?

9. What is the difference between Coaching and Therapy?

  • Therapists = aid patients in resolving emotional pain and conflicts, focusing on past issues affecting current well-being.
  • Coaching = centers on present and future goals, with ADHD Coaches partnering with clients to harness strengths and develop
management strategies. Coaching empowers clients through self-awareness and autonomy, emphasizing the client's expertise in
    their own life.

10. When will I start to see results from Coaching?

It varies widely and depends on several factors - what your coaching goals are (short-term vs. long-term / complex vs. more
straightforward), how many coaching goals you have, frequency of sessions,
and how much effort/energy/time you are willing to put
into your coaching.

***(Note: ADHD Coaching is not a replacement for talk therapy or medical advice. If you are seeking help for a mood or personality
disorder, depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), please seek the help of a psychotherapist or trained medical
professional.)

11. How can I best prepare for my sessions?

Try to have a topic in mind that you want to be coached on. Some clients use my session-prep form and other clients feel forms are
more burdensome than helpful. Use whatever works for you!

12. Can I use insurance to pay for Coaching?

No, but I accept FSA and HSA credit cards. I recommend checking with your individual insurance company about using your FSA/HSA
card for coaching.

13. Can you diagnose me with ADHD?

No, but I can help you find someone who can diagnose you and I can help guide you through the diagnosis process.

14. Do you work with kids?

No, but I can refer you to an ADHD coach who specializes in seeing kids!

4. What is my approach to Coaching? What is a Strengths-Based approach?

A strength-based approach focuses on identifying and utilizing an individual's strengths, talents, and resources to promote growth and
development. Rather than solely focusing on weaknesses or challenges, this approach highlights what someone does well and how
those strengths can be leveraged to overcome obstacles and achieve goals.

ADHD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is a chronic neurodevelopmental condition that impacts an individual's emotions, behavior,
and thinking.

  • There are 3 primary characteristics - (1) Impulsivity, (2) Distractibility (Inattention), and (3) Hyperactivity
  • There are 3 different presentations - (1) Hyperactive-Impulsive, (2) Inattentive, and (3) Combination (mixture of Hyperactive/Impulsive
    and Inattentive)

For an overview of typical behaviors associated with each presentation, I recommend checking out CHADD‘s website here.

1. What is ADHD?
